Jessica Leaper MSc travelled to Gibraltar in 2003 to study the Barbary macaques for a Masters degree in Evolutionary Psychology. On a subsequent visit she discovered the Wildlife Park and decided to stay to volunteer. In 2008, after a year as Primate Keeper she was promoted to Manager. In 2010 the first funding was awarded for the park from the Bonita Trust and the task of redesigning and redeveloping the park began. Over the last few years it has been redeveloped into a modern mini-zoo and centre for conservation education.
